Celebrate Family Dinners Together

Celebrate Family Dinners Together

Disclosure: This post challenging you to celebrate family dinners is sponsored by Alberta Beef. As always, all opinions are my own.

A few months ago, Alberta Beef asked me to write about kicking up dinners a notch. I wrote a post all about getting together with friends and celebrating over meals. Well, so much has changed over the last few months that the post didn’t make sense anymore. However, I challenge you to tweak your thinking (and mine). We can still celebrate that we are here and well (hopefully) and able to come together for family dinners. One day soon we will be back to entertaining and having guests over but until then, let’s celebrate what we have!

“How?” you say. Well, one way is to make easy meals (we love ones featuring Alberta Beef) and pair those meals with great wines. These days, it makes sense to slow down and celebrate the small things.

In fact, Alberta Beef has helped us both out by pairing great wines with some of my favourite beef recipes. You’ll find these wines at select Calgary liquor stores with a hangtag to make them easy to find!

Keep scrolling for each recipe as well as its wine pairing and get cooking! I can’t wait to hear all about your awesome everyday dinners!

Alberta Beef Everyday Dinners & Wine Pairings

Cheeseburger pasta on a grey plate

Let’s start with a nice white wine. Yep, you don’t have to only enjoy red wines with your Alberta Beef meals! We’re pairing the Santa Julia Chardonnay with my Easy Cheeseburger Pasta Skillet. The creamy texture of this dry, medium-bodied wine will pair perfectly with the richness of this dish. We love it because it is a quick and easy meal that tastes just like real cheeseburgers!

BBQ Crock-Pot Shredded beef (1)

Next up is my favourite wine varietal, Zuccardi Q Cabernet Sauvignon, with my BBQ Slow Cooker shredded beef. Cabernet Sauvignon and BBQ beef are a match made in heaven. The ripe red and black fruits will pair beautifully with the flavours in this meal while the long finish and velvety tannins will have you reaching for a second glass.

This recipe is perfect for an ordinary night in or it can be scaled up for lots of leftovers. In fact, it has become the go-to beef on a bun for many of my friends’ summer get-togethers!

cheeseburger sliders

Nothing says a fun, weeknight dinner like Bacon Cheeseburger Sliders! Tell me that those little buns don’t make you smile? Pair them with a bottle of the robust, supple and juicy Zuccardi Q Malbec which will pair perfectly with this recipe and elevate your dinner even more!

Beef Tips and Mushrooms with Rice

Last but not least is my Slow Cooker Beef Tips with Mushrooms. I love this recipe so much! I can throw everything in the slow cooker before I go to work and come home to a fully cooked meal. Pop the cork on a bottle of Zuccardi Q Tempranillo and dinner is served. The firm tannins and balanced acidity accompanied by dried fruit and spicy aromas are an excellent complement to this meal.

See? Celebrating everyday family dinners is easy. Plus, life is just too short to wait for a special occasion to make dinner special. Instead, take the time today to celebrate what you have, cook a delicious meal or open the bottle of wine. You are worth it!

Cheers and remember to drink responsibly!
