Controlling the Kitchen Chaos with Rubbermaid Easy Find Lids

Container Drawer - Merry About Town

Do you have a drawer that looks like this? No? Well, you are lucky because this is my container drawer. If this isn’t chaos I don’t know what is. There are lids everywhere. Containers everywhere. Do all the containers have lids? Who knows! Do all the lids have containers? Not a clue!

It. Is. Ridiculous.

Chicken - Merry About Town

And the chaos doesn’t end there. My refrigerator is just as chaotic. I am queen of just shoving stuff in the fridge in the container it came in…even though half of it is gone. The next thing you know the refrigerator is a mess and nothing fits. Take this chicken. I had to go to a school council meeting last night so I bought a rotisserie chicken for Evan and Dewey. Here is where the leftovers ended up. The container is big and unweildy and chances of me using this chicken in its current state is zero. My bag of lettuce and bag of bell peppers will most likely suffer the same fate. While I WANT to eat healthier, sometimes my, ahem, laziness gets in they way.

So I pulled out my cutting board and my new Rubbermaid Easy Find Lids containers and got to work. The chicken got pulled off the bone, the lettuce got chopped and rinsed and the peppers got washed and sliced. Each when in their own container. Now I have salad fixings ready at my fingertips and the chicken is ready to get made in to butter chicken for dinner. AND they fit in the space that just the chicken container took up before.

Sweet! Plus the same Easy Find Lids fit on both sizes of container shown here. The lids also click together and click to the bottom of the containers. That means they all stay together so they are super easy to find. Different sizes of containers nest for easy storage and they are microwave and freezer safe.

I had grand plans of cleaning out that disaster of a container drawer this afternoon but it didn’t happen. It will though and most of what is in there is going in the recycle bin. Then the chaos will be tamed once and for all.

This is so smart, especially if you don't have dividers in your drawers. I hate how a container or a lid always goes missing

Right Katie? In my house it is the containers that seem to disappear. I have SO MANY lids!

OMG I need these in my life. I have a huge drawer of containers and I think only half of them have lids. Where do the lids go??
