Easy Yarn Wrapped Valentine’s Day Wreath

Easy Yarn Wrapped Valentine’s Day Wreath

Valentine’s Day is coming and I decided I wanted to decorate SOMETHING this year. We skipped decorating for Christmas because we were away so I am left feeling very blah this winter. I decided to make a Yarn Wrapped Valentine’s Day Wreath for a couple of reasons. 1) It’s pink. Pink is a pretty rare thing around my house. You see, I’m the only girl in a house full of boys (even Cooper is a boy!). 2) Even though our winter is pretty mild this year, I am so over it! 3) Valentine’s Day is a fun holiday even if it was totally made up to sell cards.

I love how my Valentine’s Day Wreath turned out. I got my inspiration from Jo-Anna over at A Pretty Life. I love her yarn wrapped wreaths!

Here’s a tutorial in case you want to make your own! Easy Valentine's Day Wreath Supplies

First, gather your supplies. You’ll need:

Wrapping the Yarn

Next, wrap the yarn around the wreath form. Pull your yarn from the middle of the skein to keep it from becoming tangled. Hold the end to the wreath form and wrap the yarn around it until it is covered. You will want the yarn to be held together tightly. The easiest way to do that is to wrap it loosely for a few rounds.

Push the yarn together

Then push the yarn together making sure to still keep it in line (i.e. don’t push it enough that it gets tangled up).

Grip yarn and turn towards the back

Next grip the yarn and turn it towards the back. This tightens it up. Continue around the wreath form until it is completely covered. Once you reach the end, continue to tighten the yarn to ensure that you don’t have any missed spots. When it is completely covered, cut the yarn to leave about a 3″ tail.

Wrap Until The Wreath is Fully Covered

Use your skewer to push the tail under the wrapped yarn until it is completely out of sight.

Tuck the yarn end in

Glue on your embellishments using your glue gun or craft glue.

Place your embellishments

Let dry and then wrap with the satin ribbon at the top. Hang on a your hook and you’re done! Pretty!
