New PC Plus Rewards Program from The Real Canadian Superstore

A President's Choice Christmas

As you all know, I love President’s Choice and The Real Canadian Superstore. I think many of their products are awesome-tastic and I love that they have products for every kind of cook. You want to cook by just warming something from the freezer section….they’ve got that. Want to cook from scratch but you’re looking for a dipping sauce to give it that jolt of flavour….they’ve got that too.

Well, now they have one more awesome feature…..a rewards program! Called PC Plus, their rewards program is a bit different from most out there. First, you sign up for a PC Plus card (which you can do online or in store), load your offers on to your card, check out store wide offers in the Insider’s Report, shop and collect points. Don’t worry, I’m going to give you a bit more detail in a sec. The points are then redeemable for cash that you can use in store for whatever your little heart desires. Twenty thousand points equals $20 (this is also the minimum amount to redeem).

So those are the bare bones of the program but there are a few cool things that I left out. Have a smart phone? Well, they have an app for PC Plus which is AWESOME.
PC Plus App

You can set it up with your card number and then you never have to carry your card again. The app displays your card barcode for the cashier to scan. You can also download the offers right from your phone. All you have to do is pull down the screen and click “Load All”. You can also see which offers you have used to earn points in the last week. As you use your card, your shopping information will be used to customize your offers. Always make sure to look in the Insider’s Report, though, because there are some great point offers there!

PC Plus Offers Screen

My other favourite part of the app? The shopping list screen. I kind of suck at shopping lists. Wait, that’s not true. I do lists. Lots and lots of lists. There are lists with 2 or 3 items on it strewn about my house never to be found or taken to the grocery store. Inevitably I shop with a list only to come home and figure out I’ve forgotten one item that I really needed. Now I use the shopping list in the app and it works great (mostly because my phone is never far away). I keep a running tally and it never gets lost. Plus I can classify it by the type of item it is so that I can make my shopping more streamlined. No running back and forth from produce to dry goods and back again.

PC Plus Offers Screen

The PC app also has a recipe section that I can’t wait to use. Life has just been too busy so far. One thing I did notice with the app is that the points don’t hit your account immediately. The first time I used my card, I looked at my points balance right after and there weren’t any there. Of course I assumed that I had messed something up but lo and behold the points showed up a few hours later.

Overall I think this is a pretty great rewards program and I can’t wait to see what new offers I get as I build my shopping information within the program. One thing to note….if you have a PC Financial card, this information already exists so your offers will be customized right away.

So next time you are at The Real Canadian Superstore, it definitely pays to sign up!

Purchased drug prescriptions today at SS Antigonish...$203. I did not have my wife ,Janice's PVPLUS card 1125790385157.The sales clerks said I could go online WWW.superstore.ca and credit the points to her PCPLUS account. I tried but failed. There seems to be no provision to do what the sales clerk told me. Can you help....Thanks

I would go in to customer service and see if they can help. I don't actually work for Superstore so I have no way of fixing it for you.

I went in today , the last day of last weeks offers on the computer and none of the purchases were on it. We were in a hurry so did not check the points right away. None of the points (on the computer were entered at the cash. The in store were, but none of our offers were added. Nearly every time we go something is not on the receipt. Could this be rectified somehowl

Ann,

You can go into your app and ask for them to review the points on your order. You can also contact them directly through their website. I don't work for them so you have to contact them as I can't help you fix the issue.

I have a few of store points reward cards; but I find the PC Points card really hard to accumulate points. I buy groceries at a lot of places but seem to have gotten the rewards at the other places twice already compared not once yet with my PC Points card. Just something I've noticed.

Geraldine, I don't think there is. I use the app which is on my phone so it is always with me. You need to contact PC directly with your question.
