How to Throw a Spooktacular Halloween Party

Halloween is coming and it’s time to start planning. There are costumes to be bought or made, food to be prepared, candy to be purchased and a whole lot of fun to be had! A Halloween party is also a fabulous way to celebrate this terrifying Holiday. If you are considering throwing a Halloween party this year, there are many ways to ensure that it is as Spooktacular as possible!

Halloween Party Planning

Decorate

A party is always more fun when you decorate. Thankfully, decorating doesn’t have to break the bank. Check out these great and inexpensive decorating ideas!

Costumes

Don’t forget to set the tone for your guests. You have to dress up for your own party! Need ideas? (Links may be affiliate links. When you purchase through them, I make a small fee but your price is not affected.) How about Star Wars Costumes or maybe Ghostbusters Movie Costumes or put a group together because everyone knows group costumes are the life of the party!

Guest List

Sit down with your kids and write out a guest list of people to invite. Make sure to include their friends on the list but don’t go too overboard! You don’t have to invite the entire school.

Invitations

Cute invitations set the mood for your party, but you also want them to be practical. You can make your own invitations or use printables to save a bit of money and personalize your invites.

Halloween Treat Ideas

Menu Plan Ahead of Time

Come up with a list of food items you plan on offering at your party. There are so many cute Halloween themed recipes out there that you can create. Label your masterpieces with funny Halloween themed names to support the theme. Also don’t forget your Halloween themed plates and napkins!

Create a Soundtrack

Make a Halloween playlist ahead of time. You don’t want to be fumbling with the music when you could be engaging with your guests. You can find lots of options to stream too.

DIY Hallowen Treat Bag

Have Activities and Games Prepared

Prepare activities that your guests can participate in! Have the kids make their own trick-or-treat bags or offer creative Halloween themed games like Pin the Nose on the Pumpkin or Halloween Charades.

Have Prizes

Have everyone wear their costumes and at the end of the night take a vote on the best costume! The winner gets a prize. Prizes can be anything you choose like little baskets of candy or ribbons.

Offer Loot Bags

At the end of the night, have loot bags to offer your guests to thank them for attending. Fill them with candy and trinkets that your guests can use later. Or if you are making DIY Trick-or-Treat Bags then they can be your loot bag too.

Get planning and have that amazing Halloween party that people will talk about all year!
