Top 10 Things I Want to See In New York City

So I’m off to New York on Wednesday with my Mother in Law (aka Nana).  We are going to have so much fun!!!!  My very first Top Ten Tuesday post is all about the things I am looking forward to seeing in New York City.
  1. Real New York Tours – We’re taking the Dozen Apples Tour.  6 hours in Manhatten in a small group (12 ppl) with a native New Yorker for a tour guide.
  2. The 9th Avenue International Food Festival – I’ve heard that it has gone hill the last few years but I still want to check it out.
  3. FAO Schwarz Toy Store – Because I’m a big kid at heart & it is the best toy store EVAH!
  4. Tiffany & Co – Diamonds ARE a girl’s best friend (or at least sterling silver which is surprisingly affordable at Tiffany)
  5. Broadway – We’re not sure what we are going to see because we’ve decided to chance it & hit the TKTS line.  Cross your fingers that we’ll get tickets to something good!
  6. Central Park – We’ve had a late Spring here in Calgary so I’m hoping that Central Park with be in full Spring bloom.
  7. Times Square – It’s cheesy but no trip to New York would be complete without a gawk at Times Square.  Our hotel is pretty near there too.
  8. Greenwich Village – I’ve always wanted to explore this neighborhood & now’s my chance! The guidebook I bought has a great route through the village.
  9. The New York Public Library – Hey I’m a Sex in the City fan…what more can I say?
  10. Little Italy – No trip is complete without dinner in Little Italy!
Have you ever been to New York?  I’ve been there twice.  I LOVE it & I am always looking for “must see” ideas.  Please leave me a comment if you have a travel tip for New York!

Did you get to do everything you wanted, or bring back some great silver souvenirs? (wink)

I've been to New York once many years ago when my sister graduated from school there. I think the Cloisters was my favourite part of my trip. It is a bit far but so beautiful
